#001 - An intro, the journey so far, and goals

Welcome to the first issue of my newsletter!

Thank you for signing up and joining me on this journey.

I know that this year is gonna be wild so I thought it would be a cool idea to document each week with updates and any learnings to share with you.

To start, I’ll introduce myself and give you some context about where I’m at in my life and where I want to be by the end of this year.

I graduated college in the summer of 2021 and I’m around 11 months into my Management Consulting job.

I started building my personal brand on Twitter on 3rd July 2022 and ended the year with 1,000 followers.

At the time I’m writing this (22/01/23), I have:

  • 3,120+ followers

  • 62+ newsletter subs

  • 0 monthly podcast listeners

  • $0 earned online and 0 clients

  • $2,200 invested

What I aim to achieve by 2024:

  • 50,000+ followers

  • 10,000+ newsletter subs

  • 5,000+ monthly podcast listeners

  • $10,000+/month earned online

  • Quit 9-5

These are my output goals, but my focus will be on input goals:

  • Focus on lead gen and delivery of ghostwriting for others

  • Post 1 newsletter/podcast episode a week

  • Post 1-2 tweets/day and 2 threads a week

If I can stick to these goals, I’m fairly confident that I can hit my output goals by the end of the year.

I’ll give you updates at the end of each month on where I’m at in terms of progress toward my goals.

And then each week, I’ll document my learnings to share with you.

My hope is that you can join me on this journey and we can all win together.

It won’t be easy, but it’ll be 100% worth it.

My plan for this month is to scale my personal brand as much as possible and get it to around 5k followers.

Next month, I’ll shift gears and focus on building experience doing work for others and landing clients from my personal brand with authority threads.

I’ve just started ghostwriting for another guy’s agency which is great because it’s a great way to learn the ropes and get experience delivering work for others.

I’d say I’m making good progress at the moment and I’m looking to bring this momentum forward.

My friend Jack Moses said something that stuck with me yesterday:

“Momentum takes a long time to build but can be easily lost if you don’t maintain your consistency”

So that’s my aim - to keep the momentum going and take it one step at a time.

By writing each issue of this newsletter, I can evaluate my progress and refocus my attention to only doing things that move the needle.

That’s all for this week, thank you for taking time out of your day to read this!

I genuinely appreciate that you’ve decided to join me on this journey.

Thanks,

Fernando
