#002 - Potential client opps, time management struggles, and improving efficiency
Hey guys, welcome to the second issue of my newsletter.
This week was a kinda slow week but it's still been a great chance to reflect.
What went well/what did I achieve this week?
This week I got an opportunity to ghostwrite for a 7 fig dating coach and potentially land him as a client.
He’s looking for a ghostwriter to drive sales for his high-ticket offer.
To land him as a client, I have to prove that I can deliver.
What I plan to do is write a case study thread for him and then plug a CTA at the end of the offer to drive traffic to it.
I'll then expand this case study into a full-blown google doc with more detail and then create an auto-dm with the aim to get more followers and leads.
This is an easy way to get a ton of traffic to his content.
Even if he doesn’t get leads from it, he’ll definitely get a bunch of followers.
If this goes well, I could land a sweet deal.
The second opportunity I have is a sales call with a founder who filled out my google forms.
He looks like a promising prospect.
I'll update you guys on how this goes too in next week's issue.
Aside from that, I started Dakota’s ghostwriting agency cohort this week.
The roadmap looks sick and the community is popping off.
He’s gamified the whole cohort so everyone has the incentive to pump up the engagement/completion rates.
Some of the prizes he’s got lined up are crazy.
What didn't go well/what can I improve on?
I’ve been hearing a lot about how Twitter’s new private/public account setting has messed up the engagement rates for creators.
If you’re on private, your account engagement goes up but your posts can only be seen by your followers.
If you’re on public, your account can be seen by everyone but the engagement drops massively.
I don’t know if my content has been shit this week but I’ve definitely noticed it.
Oh well, just have to keep marching on and pumping out the value and ride this wave.
Another thing that hasn’t gone too well for me this week is my time management.
It’s been awful this week. My corporate job has obliterated my calendar and I’ve had to finish off some work over the weekend.
Saying this, I think it’s a great opportunity to level up my time management and focus massively.
I physically don’t have to capacity to be lazy and procrastinate.
I’ve noticed this week that I’m constantly cutting stuff out that really doesn’t benefit me and allocating my time more to things that actually move the needle.
It’s gonna be tough but hopefully I can develop god-like levels of productivity by the end of next month.
The final thing that didn’t go too well – I created a giveaway on Chat GPT this week that didn’t pop at all.
I think it's because the Chat GPT wave on Twitter has died and it’s time to find another wave to jump on.
I’ve got some awesome giveaways planned over the next month though so I’m not feeling sorry for myself for this L.
What should I focus on this week?
This week, I’m going to focus on smashing the autodm/thread for the relationship coach and the sales call that I have planned for tomorrow.
I've reassessed how much time I can commit to twitter/building an agency and realistically it’s around 10-15 hours a week.
Given this time constraint, my time outside of work will be spent:
Writing 2 threads/week for my own account
Writing 1 thread for another guy’s agency
Making sure I have a constant flow of high-quality tweets (2/day)
Progressing inbound lead opportunities that interest me
Participating and being active in Dakota’s cohort
That’s really my focus for the next 2-3 months.
I used to think that the gurus telling me to sacrifice my life to build a business were a bit extreme but now I realize just how much you have to sacrifice if you want to make it.
The way I see it, I just have to get through the next 3-6 months and transition it well to quit my 9-5 and go full-time ghostwriter from there.
Once I’ve made the transition, I’ll be operating at a high level and be able to chill more.
It’s similar to revising for exams to get into college and I’m in the revision period.
WAGMI.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this as always.
I hope it’s given you value in some way.
See ya next week.
Big love, Fernando
